360 Feedback Questions for Retail Managers

17 ready-to-use questions, example comments and tips — plus a free tool that runs the survey and writes the report for you.

A retail store manager balances sales targets, rotas, stock, visual standards and a team that often includes part-time and seasonal staff. The area manager sees the numbers, but the staff on the shop floor see how the store is really run. A 360 gives store managers and assistant managers a clear, anonymous view from both. These questions are written for the daily reality of running a shop.

Tips for a useful 360

  • Include full-time and part-time staff, the assistant manager or supervisors, and the area or regional manager.
  • Share the survey by link or QR code in the staff room so people can answer on their phone during a break.
  • Avoid running the 360 during peak trading periods, when the team has no time to answer thoughtfully.

Frequently asked questions

Who should give 360 feedback to a store manager?

Sales associates, supervisors or assistant managers in the store, the area or district manager, and sometimes a peer manager from a nearby store. Keep at least three staff in each group for anonymity.

Can these questions be used for assistant store managers?

Yes. Most questions apply directly. Remove or adapt the questions about head office if the assistant manager does not deal with it, and ask the store manager to take part as a reviewer.
