360 Feedback Questions for Marketing Teams

19 ready-to-use questions, example comments and tips — plus a free tool that runs the survey and writes the report for you.

Marketing work is judged by results, but campaign numbers say little about how someone briefs an agency, works with sales or handles a last-minute change from leadership. A 360 asks the people around them: fellow marketers, designers, sales, product and their manager. Use these questions for individual marketers and for marketing managers, adding the leadership section for people who run a team.

Tips for a useful 360

  • Include people from sales and product, not just marketing: they see how marketing work lands outside the team.
  • For marketing managers, add their direct reports and keep at least three in that group so answers stay anonymous.
  • Leave campaign metrics out of the survey. Use the 360 for how the work gets done, not the numbers you already have.

Frequently asked questions

Who should give 360 feedback to a marketing manager?

Their direct reports, fellow marketing leads, their own manager, and partners in sales, product and sometimes an agency they work with closely. Aim for six to ten reviewers.

What are good 360 questions for a marketing team?

Questions about planning and delivery, the quality of briefs and ideas, use of data, and collaboration with sales and product. Behaviour-based questions work better than asking colleagues to rate creativity in general.
